Key Responsibilities
- Operate public buses safely and efficiently along designated routes and schedules.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting passengers with inquiries and ensuring a pleasant journey.
- Collect fares, issue tickets, and manage passenger boarding and alighting processes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the bus interior.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and passengers.
- Handle unexpected situations (e.g., traffic delays, breakdowns, passenger incidents) calmly and professionally.
- Complete necessary paperwork, including trip sheets and incident reports.
Required Skills
- Valid heavy vehicle driving license (Bus/PSV license, Category D or equivalent) for Mauritius.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Excellent spatial awareness and vehicle control.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to regulations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Punctuality and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a customer-facing role.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks.
- Familiarity with Curepipe and surrounding areas' road networks.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
