Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Driving Instructor to join our expanding team in Morningside, Edinburgh. This is a pivotal role for an individual dedicated to fostering safe, confident, and responsible drivers. As a Driving Instructor with Career.zycto, you will be at the forefront of delivering exceptional driving education, guiding learners through every stage of their journey to obtaining a full driving license.
Your responsibilities will span across delivering structured practical driving lessons, preparing students for both the theory and practical driving tests, and conducting advanced training such as Pass Plus. You will be instrumental in teaching a diverse range of students, from complete beginners to those seeking refresher courses, adapting your teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and needs. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, structured practical driving lessons to a diverse range of students.
- Tailor instruction methods to suit individual student needs and learning styles.
- Prepare students thoroughly for both the practical driving test and the theory test.
- Conduct driving assessments and provide constructive feedback on student progress.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student lessons, progress, and achievements.
- Ensure the training vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and safe for all lessons, conducting daily checks.
- Stay current with all driving regulations, highway code updates, and best practices in driver education.
- Promote safe driving habits, defensive driving techniques, and responsible road behaviour.
- Manage lesson bookings and schedules efficiently, communicating effectively with students.
- Offer post-test training programs, such as Pass Plus, to enhance driver skills and confidence.
Required Skills
- Valid UK Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) license.
- Full, clean UK driving license held for at least 3 years.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a calm demeanour.
- Strong observational skills and ability to assess student performance accurately.
- In-depth knowledge of the Highway Code and road safety regulations.
- Proficiency in lesson planning and adapting teaching strategies.
- Ability to work independently and manage own schedule effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching a diverse range of learners, including those with specific learning needs.
- Additional driving instructor endorsements (e.g., Pass Plus registered).
- Certification in First Aid.
- Previous experience working with a recognised driving school.
- Knowledge of local driving test routes in Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
