Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial client consultations to understand event objectives, preferences, and budget for both wedding and corporate events.
  • Develop detailed event proposals, including theme, concept, décor, vendor recommendations, and comprehensive budget breakdowns.
  • Source, negotiate with, and manage a wide range of vendors (caterers, venues, photographers, entertainers, florists, technical support, etc.).
  • Create and manage event timelines, schedules, and critical path documents.
  • Oversee all logistical aspects of events, including venue setup, décor installation, guest management, and breakdown.
  • Ensure strict adherence to budgets, monitoring expenses and providing regular financial updates to clients.
  • Coordinate on-site event execution, managing staff, vendors, and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships, providing exceptional communication and service throughout the planning process.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in event planning, specifically with wedding and corporate events.
  • Proven track record of successfully planning and executing a diverse range of events.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial tracking.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client relations skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • High level of creativity and an eye for detail and aesthetics.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Certification in Event Management (e.g., CMP, CSEP).
  • Established network of reputable vendors in the Rose Hall/Montego Bay area.
