Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Merchandiser – Product Display & Arrangement to join our dynamic team in Portobello, Edinburgh. Your primary mission will be to ensure our products are showcased in the most attractive and effective manner, aligning with our brand guidelines and marketing initiatives. This involves everything from conceptualising new display themes to executing precise planograms, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring promotional materials are current and impactful. You’ll work collaboratively with sales, marketing, and inventory teams to understand product cycles, identify key selling opportunities, and react swiftly to market trends. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging product displays, visual merchandising strategies, and store layouts that enhance customer experience and drive sales.
- Execute planograms accurately and efficiently, ensuring optimal product placement, category flow, and brand consistency.
- Regularly refresh and maintain visual displays, ensuring they are clean, appealing, and reflect current promotions and seasonal themes.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with inventory management to ensure products are available and correctly positioned on shelves.
- Conduct regular store visits and competitor analysis to identify merchandising opportunities and maintain market awareness.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align visual strategies with promotional campaigns and new product launches.
- Provide feedback and recommendations on product performance, display effectiveness, and customer engagement.
- Ensure all visual merchandising adheres to health and safety standards and company policies.
- Train and support store staff on merchandising best practices and display maintenance.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in retail merchandising or visual display (minimum 18 months)
- Strong understanding of visual merchandising principles and retail display techniques
- Excellent creative flair and an eye for aesthetics and detail
- Ability to interpret sales data and merchandising reports to inform display decisions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift and move display materials, and arrange products
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Visual Merchandising, Retail Management, Fashion, or a related field
- Experience with planogram software
- Knowledge of current retail trends and competitor activities within the Edinburgh market
- Previous experience in a fast-paced retail environment with multiple product categories
