Key Responsibilities
- Perform general grounds maintenance tasks including mowing, strimming, edging, and weeding.
- Planting, pruning, and caring for shrubs, trees, and floral displays.
- Maintain hard surfaces, pathways, and car parks, ensuring they are clean and free from debris.
- Operate and maintain a range of grounds maintenance equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Conduct routine checks and basic repairs on equipment, reporting any faults.
- Undertake seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, gritting, and snow removal.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with waste management and recycling initiatives on site.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding work progress and issues.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in grounds maintenance or a similar outdoor role.
- Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment (e.g., mowers, strimmers).
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
- Good physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of horticulture and plant care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Full UK driving license (or international equivalent recognized in the UK).
- NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture or Amenity Horticulture (or equivalent qualification).
- PA1/PA6 certification for pesticide application.
- Experience with specialist machinery (e.g., chainsaws, compact tractors).
