Job Description

Zanzibar Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Entry-Level Videography Equipment Handler to join our dedicated team in Kangagani, Wete. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with little to no prior professional experience, but a strong desire to learn and contribute to high-quality video production. You will be instrumental in ensuring our videographers and production crews have the right equipment, in excellent condition, when they need it most. This role involves the careful preparation, organization, maintenance, and transportation of a wide array of videography equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, audio gear, and support systems. You will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and learn the critical importance of equipment management in a fast-paced broadcasting environment. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize videography equipment (cameras, lenses, tripods, lighting, audio gear, etc.) for various productions and assignments, ensuring all necessary accessories are included.
- Perform routine checks and basic cleaning of all equipment before and after use to ensure optimal functionality, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Assist in the safe and efficient packing, loading, and unloading of equipment into vehicles for transport to various filming locations across Pemba.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all videography equipment, meticulously tracking items in and out of storage and reporting any missing, damaged, or malfunctioning items promptly.
- Support videographers and production crew on location with equipment setup, breakdown, and adjustments as needed, ensuring smooth operational flow.
- Ensure the equipment storage area is kept clean, organized, and secure at all times, adhering to established safety protocols.
- Conduct minor troubleshooting and preventative maintenance tasks on equipment under supervision, escalating complex technical issues to senior technical staff.
