Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily care and supervision of children, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate educational activities and play experiences.
  • Observe and record children's progress, contributing to their developmental profiles.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Assist with meal times, sleep routines, and personal care as required.
  • Implement safeguarding policies and procedures effectively.
  • Participate in team meetings and continuous professional development opportunities.
  • Adhere to all relevant legislation and nursery policies and procedures.
  • Promote children's independence, self-help skills, and social development.

Required Skills

  • Minimum Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience working with children aged 0-5 in a nursery or childcare setting (minimum 6 months).
  • Excellent understanding of child development and early years foundation stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, creativity, and a nurturing approach.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Eligibility for UK visa sponsorship (if applicable).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Paediatric First Aid qualification.
  • Food Hygiene certification.
  • Experience with specific learning needs or diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a childcare environment.
