We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Radiographer to join our dynamic Imaging & Scan Operations team in St Leonard’s, Edinburgh. Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-ray, Fluoroscopy, and potentially CT/MRI, to a high standard.
- Operate and maintain specialist imaging equipment safely and effectively, ensuring optimal image quality.
- Accurately position patients for examinations, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity throughout the procedure.
- Verify patient identity, explain procedures clearly, and obtain informed consent.
- Process, review, and evaluate images for technical quality, ensuring they meet diagnostic standards.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive diagnostic information.
- Adhere strictly to all radiation safety regulations and protocols, performing quality assurance checks on equipment.
- Maintain accurate patient records and departmental logs.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development activities.
- Provide compassionate patient care, responding to queries and addressing concerns professionally.
Required Skills
- BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Proven experience as a Radiographer in a clinical setting (minimum 2 years post-qualification).
- Proficiency in operating various diagnostic imaging equipment and modalities.
- Excellent understanding of radiation protection and safety protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI).
- Evidence of continuous professional development and participation in relevant training.
- Experience with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and RIS (Radiology Information System).
