Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Process Engineer to join our growing team in Darmstadt. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual passionate about optimizing industrial processes, enhancing efficiency, and driving innovation within a forward-thinking organization. As a Process Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing new processes, as well as improving existing ones across various production lines. Your work will directly impact product quality, operational costs, and overall plant performance. We are looking for someone who can combine strong analytical capabilities with practical problem-solving skills to tackle complex engineering challenges. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless integration of new processes and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of process engineering principles, a knack for identifying bottlenecks, and the ability to propose and execute data-driven solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize new and existing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Conduct process simulations, data analysis, and root cause analysis to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage and execute process engineering projects from conception through commissioning, adhering to timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of new processes and technologies.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including P&IDs, flow diagrams, and operating procedures.
  • Ensure all processes comply with relevant safety, environmental, and quality regulations (e.g., ISO, GMP).
  • Provide technical support and training to production personnel on process operation and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate and recommend new equipment, technologies, and materials to enhance process capabilities and performance.
  • Participate in risk assessments and HAZOP studies to identify and mitigate potential process hazards.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 36 months of professional experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of process design principles, mass and energy balances, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II).
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Fluent in English; German language proficiency is a significant advantage.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or advanced materials industry.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
  • Familiarity with automation and control systems (DCS, PLC).
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data visualization tools.
