This is a crucial, full-time position that involves a wide array of tasks essential to the successful completion of various on-site projects, primarily within the construction, landscaping, and site maintenance sectors. As a General Laborer, you will be the backbone of our operations, performing essential manual labour, assisting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of work sites. Key Responsibilities
- Perform various manual tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials weighing up to 50 lbs consistently.
- Assist skilled tradespeople, including carpenters, electricians, and plumbers, with specific tasks on construction and renovation sites.
- Operate and maintain a variety of basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently, ensuring proper usage and storage.
- Ensure all work sites are kept clean, tidy, organized, and free of potential hazards at all times.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment from trucks and storage areas.
- Prepare work areas by clearing debris, sweeping, setting up barricades, and preparing surfaces for further work.
- Strictly follow all company and site-specific safety regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Support the assembly and disassembly of temporary structures, scaffolding, or equipment as needed.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or incidents to the immediate supervisor promptly.
- Collaborate effectively and respectfully with team members, supervisors, and other site personnel to achieve project goals and deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the site supervisor or foreman to support overall project objectives.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Strong understanding and unwavering commitment to workplace safety practices and protocols.
- Basic knowledge of common construction tools, equipment, and their safe operation.
- Excellent work ethic, reliability, and punctuality are paramount.
- Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions accurately.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) in a general labor, construction, or similar physical role.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification.
- Fall Protection certification.
- Experience operating small machinery (e.g., bobcat, forklift, concrete saw) is considered a significant asset.
