Job Description

Maliba Lodge is seeking a highly motivated Housekeeping Assistant to join our esteemed team in Linakeng, Butha-Buthe. As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and aesthetic appeal across all guest rooms and public areas. Key Responsibilities
- Clean and tidy all assigned guest rooms and public areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Make beds, change linens, and replenish towels and guest amenities daily.
- Vacuum carpets, mop floors, dust furniture, and clean fixtures and fittings.
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including showers, toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or missing items promptly to the supervisor.
- Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of cleaning supplies and guest amenities.
- Handle guest requests courteously and efficiently, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and lodge policies.
- Assist with laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and sorting linens and uniforms, as needed.
- Contribute to a positive and cooperative working environment with colleagues.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in housekeeping or a similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to cleanliness.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently, as well as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Physical stamina to handle demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and equipment, and knowledge of safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a 4 or 5-star hotel or lodge environment.
- Knowledge of basic English communication for guest interaction.
- First Aid certification.
