Job Description

Maliba Lodge is seeking a highly motivated Housekeeping Assistant to join our esteemed team in Linakeng, Butha-Buthe. As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and aesthetic appeal across all guest rooms and public areas. Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and tidy all assigned guest rooms and public areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Make beds, change linens, and replenish towels and guest amenities daily.
  • Vacuum carpets, mop floors, dust furniture, and clean fixtures and fittings.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including showers, toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or missing items promptly to the supervisor.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of cleaning supplies and guest amenities.
  • Handle guest requests courteously and efficiently, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and lodge policies.
  • Assist with laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and sorting linens and uniforms, as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive and cooperative working environment with colleagues.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in housekeeping or a similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to cleanliness.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Physical stamina to handle demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and equipment, and knowledge of safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a 4 or 5-star hotel or lodge environment.
  • Knowledge of basic English communication for guest interaction.
  • First Aid certification.
