Key Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance to dentists and hygienists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and maintain the clinical environment, including sterilising instruments and equipment to cross-infection control standards (HTM 01-05 and CQC).
- Accurately maintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to GDPR guidelines.
- Manage stock control for dental materials and instruments, ensuring availability and proper storage.
- Perform reception duties as required, including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and processing payments.
- Assist patients with pre and post-operative instructions and provide oral hygiene advice.
- Undergo continuous professional development (CPD) to maintain General Dental Council (GDC) registration.
- Ensure compliance with all practice policies, health and safety regulations, and CQC requirements.
Required Skills
- Full and valid registration with the General Dental Council (GDC).
- Minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience as a Dental Nurse.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centric approach.
- Proficiency in using dental practice management software (e.g., SOE Exact, Dentally).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Eligibility for UK visa sponsorship (e.g., meeting criteria for a Skilled Worker Visa).
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional qualifications in Dental Radiography.
- Experience in specialist dental fields such as orthodontics, implantology, or oral surgery.
- Completion of a certified first aid course.
- Familiarity with NHS and private dental practice protocols in the UK.
- Fluency in an additional language.
