Career.zycto is seeking an exceptional and highly strategic Finance Director to lead our Budget & Policy function. This pivotal role, based in our Bridge of Don office, will be instrumental in shaping the financial landscape of our organisation, ensuring fiscal prudence, strategic resource allocation, and adherence to robust financial policies. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting process, developing comprehensive budgets and financial forecasts aligned with strategic objectives.
- Develop, implement, and monitor financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance, efficiency, and strong internal controls.
- Provide strategic financial advice and recommendations to the executive team and board on fiscal matters, investment decisions, and risk management.
- Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, UK GAAP).
- Analyse financial performance, identify key trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, presenting insights to stakeholders.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions to optimise liquidity and financial stability.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting professional growth.
- Ensure statutory compliance, including tax, regulatory filings, and external audit requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.
- Evaluate and advise on potential mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic corporate finance initiatives.
Required Skills
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) in senior financial management roles, with significant budget and policy responsibility.
- Demonstrable expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis.
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced financial modelling tools.
