Key Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned premises regularly, both on foot and via surveillance systems, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Circulate among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect property.
- Operate and monitor security equipment, including CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems.
- Respond to alarms, investigate disturbances, and provide assistance during emergencies.
- Enforce rules, regulations, and policies of the client property.
- Provide a visible security presence and excellent customer service to visitors and staff.
- Conduct routine checks of safety equipment and report any malfunctions.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) license for Door Supervision and/or Security Guarding.
- Proven experience as a Security Guard or in a similar role.
- Excellent observation and communication skills.
- Ability to operate CCTV and alarm systems.
- Strong understanding of security protocols and procedures.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand and patrol for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively in both day and night shift patterns, including weekends and holidays.
- First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a public-facing security role.
- Knowledge of local Stonehaven and Aberdeen area security landscape.
- Full UK Driving License and access to own transport.
- Conflict resolution and de-escalation training.
- Proficiency in incident report writing software.
