Job Description
A challenging and rewarding opportunity awaits a skilled Mechanical Engineer at Career.zycto, focusing on Plant Operations & Equipment Repair in our Aberdeen facility. We are seeking a proactive and highly competent engineer to play a pivotal role in maintaining the operational integrity and efficiency of our diverse plant machinery and systems. This is a hands-on position that requires a keen eye for detail, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle support of mechanical assets, from routine preventative maintenance and diagnostic analysis to complex fault finding and emergency repairs. You will work across a variety of equipment, including rotating machinery, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and process equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying potential mechanical failures before they occur, implementing robust maintenance strategies, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance plant performance and reduce operational costs.
This role offers an exciting blend of technical challenge and practical application. You will frequently collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, electrical engineers, and safety personnel, to ensure seamless operations and adherence to all regulatory standards. Beyond reactive and preventative maintenance, you will also be involved in the planning and execution of equipment upgrades, modifications, and new installations, providing expert mechanical input from conception to commissioning. We value engineers who are not only adept at repair but also proactive in suggesting improvements, optimising asset performance, and implementing innovative engineering solutions to enhance our operational footprint. Your ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs will be essential, as will your proficiency in using various diagnostic tools and software. Career.zycto is committed to professional development, offering avenues for growth and specialisation within our dynamic engineering landscape.
