Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dental Assistant to join our dedicated team at our state-of-the-art clinic located in Adams Arcade, Nairobi. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms for patients, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready.
  • Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, surgical, and prophylactic treatments, by handing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Perform chairside duties, including suctioning, passing instruments, and anticipating the dentist's needs.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols and guidelines.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
  • Manage patient records, update medical histories, and process dental X-rays.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, manage recalls, and maintain an organized daily schedule.
  • Monitor and maintain dental supplies and inventory, placing orders as needed.
  • Provide compassionate patient support and ensure their comfort throughout their visit.
  • Assist with laboratory tasks such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to take and process dental radiographs (X-rays).
  • Proficiency in dental software for patient charting and scheduling.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Dental Assisting from a recognized institution.
  • Experience with specific dental specialties (e.g., orthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery).
  • Familiarity with Dentrix or similar practice management software.
  • Additional certifications related to dental assisting.
  • Ability to speak multiple local languages (e.g., Swahili).
