Key Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced spatial analysis and interpretation of geographical data using various methodologies.
- Develop, manage, and maintain robust GIS databases and mapping projects for diverse applications.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, high-quality maps, and engaging presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Utilize remote sensing data (satellite imagery, aerial photography) for land-use classification, environmental monitoring, and change detection.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including urban planners, environmental scientists, and engineers on project development and execution.
- Perform field data collection, ground-truthing, and surveys to validate and enrich spatial datasets.
- Contribute to the research and development of new methodologies, tools, and best practices in geospatial analysis.
- Provide expert geographic insights and recommendations to inform strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and adherence to relevant spatial data standards and regulations.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in leading GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, GRASS GIS).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex geographical datasets.
- Excellent data visualization and cartographic abilities for clear communication of spatial information.
- Solid understanding of remote sensing principles, image processing, and applications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and manipulate large spatial databases.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and German.
- Proven experience with spatial statistics and geostatistical methods.
