Job Description

Career.zycto is actively searching for a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team in Meersbrook, Sheffield. This vital role is central to ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of all vendor invoices and payments, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and upholding meticulous financial records. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for a critical part of our financial operations, managing the entire accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt to payment reconciliation. Your expertise in managing vendor accounts, processing expenses, and ensuring timely payments will directly contribute to our financial stability and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, matching them to purchase orders and receiving reports.
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and checks, ensuring timely payment to vendors.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain organised and up-to-date vendor files, ensuring proper documentation and easy retrieval.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments regarding payment status and invoice queries.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts payable.
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for AP transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role.
  • Proven proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Excel (intermediate level).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity and discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AAT qualification or equivalent finance-related certification.
  • Experience working with a large ERP system.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced or growing company environment.
