Key Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities and specifications.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis and develop robust budget forecasts for all project stages.
- Manage and negotiate variations to contracts, ensuring all changes are accurately costed and approved.
- Administer contractual agreements, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions by all parties.
- Evaluate and process contractor claims and payments, maintaining rigorous financial control.
- Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks, developing strategies for mitigation.
- Provide expert advice on contractual matters, procurement strategies, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to ensure project success.
- Prepare regular financial reports and progress updates for stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, assess work completed, and resolve disputes.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Demonstrable expertise in cost planning, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in contract law and administration, with strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent knowledge of German construction industry standards and practices (VOB, HOAI).
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, AQS).
- Experience with estimating software (e.g., iTWO, ARRIBA).
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and software.
