Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the discovery and evaluation of new musical talent, reviewing demos and online submissions.
  • Conduct market research on emerging artists, genres, and industry trends to identify potential opportunities.
  • Support the A&R team in artist development activities, including feedback sessions, song selection, and creative direction.
  • Help organize and maintain the talent database, tracking artist submissions and development progress.
  • Attend local music showcases, open mic nights, and industry events to scout new talent (as permitted and with supervision).
  • Prepare reports and presentations on potential artists, market analysis, and project updates.
  • Provide administrative support to the A&R department as needed, including scheduling and correspondence.
  • Contribute creative ideas for artist marketing, branding, and career strategies.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a relevant degree program (e.g., Music Business, Communications, Marketing, Arts Administration).
  • Profound passion for music and a broad knowledge of various genres and emerging artists.
  • Exceptional listening skills and a critical ear for musical talent.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience (academic or extracurricular) in the music industry, talent management, or event coordination.
  • Familiarity with music industry software or databases.
