Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of production operatives, providing clear direction, training, and performance feedback.
- Oversee daily production schedules, ensuring timely completion of orders and adherence to quality specifications.
- Monitor production processes for efficiency, identifying bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular quality checks and inspections, collaborating with quality assurance to resolve non-conformances.
- Manage equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
- Prepare and present production reports, including output, scrap rates, downtime, and team performance.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, encouraging skill development and proactive problem-solving.
- Effectively communicate production targets, issues, and successes to both the team and senior management.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a production leadership or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production management principles.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of production operatives.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting.
