Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and cooking.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stock rotation, and waste control.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including HACCP standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times.
- Contribute to menu development, bringing innovative ideas and seasonal ingredients.
- Manage food costs and kitchen efficiency without compromising quality.
- Step in as Head Chef during their absence, managing all kitchen operations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role for at least 3 years.
- Excellent culinary skills with a strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of best practices for kitchen hygiene and sanitation (HACCP).
- Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Creativity and a passion for food innovation.
- Food Safety Level 2 qualification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced culinary diploma or degree.
- Experience with diverse cuisines and dietary requirements.
- Previous experience in a corporate dining or high-volume catering setting.
- First Aid certification.
