Key Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage for various medical procedures and services.
- Obtain necessary pre-authorizations or referrals as required by insurance plans.
- Communicate effectively with insurance companies to clarify benefits, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on pending authorizations.
- Accurately document all verification details, communications, and authorization numbers in the designated electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Review and understand complex insurance policies, including deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, and out-of-pocket maximums.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure all patient demographic and insurance information is accurate and complete.
- Identify potential payment issues and inform relevant parties to prevent service delays or financial surprises for patients.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Stay updated on changes in insurance policies, coding guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
