Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking a vigilant and dedicated Security Officer to join our team, focusing on mall and office patrol duties within Chilwell, Nottingham. This vital role is central to maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for shoppers, employees, and visitors alike. As a Security Officer, you will be the frontline presence ensuring the protection of property, assets, and individuals, while also acting as a key point of contact for enquiries and assistance. You will be responsible for a range of tasks, from conducting regular patrols and monitoring surveillance equipment to responding to incidents and enforcing site policies. We are looking for an individual with excellent observational skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a proactive approach to security challenges. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular foot patrols of designated mall and office areas, identifying and reporting any security risks or suspicious activities.
- Monitor CCTV systems and alarms, responding promptly and effectively to alerts.
- Respond to incidents such as theft, vandalism, disturbances, or medical emergencies, escalating issues to management or emergency services as required.
- Enforce site rules and regulations, ensuring compliance by all visitors and staff.
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting visitors with directions, information, and general inquiries.
- Complete detailed and accurate incident reports, daily logs, and other documentation.
- Conduct routine checks of fire safety equipment, access points, and premises for unauthorized entry or hazards.
- Liaise effectively with law enforcement, property management, and other emergency services during incidents or investigations.
- Deter criminal activity through visible presence and proactive security measures.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures of the premises, ensuring all security protocols are followed.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Door Supervisor and/or Security Guarding License.
- Proven experience as a Security Officer, preferably in a retail, corporate, or public-facing environment.
- Excellent observational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Strong understanding of security procedures and protocols.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills for report writing and surveillance monitoring.
- A keen eye for detail and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- CCTV Public Space Surveillance (PSS) License.
- Experience with conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
