As a Delivery Warehouse Dispatcher, you will be the linchpin of our daily delivery operations, orchestrating the movement of goods from our warehouse to our valued customers. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the timely and accurate dispatch of deliveries, managing a fleet of drivers and vehicles with precision and foresight. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and dispatch daily delivery routes for drivers and vehicles to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Monitor real-time driver progress, track deliveries, and provide updates to customers and internal stakeholders as needed.
- Optimize delivery routes to reduce fuel consumption, minimize travel time, and improve overall operational efficiency.
- Address and resolve any delivery issues, delays, or emergencies that may arise during transit, proactively communicating solutions.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and customer service to ensure seamless coordination of operations.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatches, deliveries, driver logs, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies for drivers and vehicle operations.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling and security.
- Prepare daily dispatch reports and other relevant documentation.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure goods are prepared correctly for dispatch and ready on time.
- Handle inquiries and provide support to drivers and internal teams regarding delivery specifics.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Dispatcher, Logistics Coordinator, or similar role in a warehouse or transportation setting.
- Excellent knowledge of logistics operations, route planning, and fleet management.
- Strong geographical knowledge of Zanzibar City and surrounding areas.
- Proficiency in using dispatch software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to make quick decisions, troubleshoot problems, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
