Fitness Hub Gym & Studio in Spanish Town is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Swimming Pool Lifeguard Trainee to join our vibrant team. As a Lifeguard Trainee, you will undergo comprehensive training in water rescue techniques, CPR, First Aid, and AED usage, preparing you for full certification. You’ll work alongside experienced lifeguards, gaining practical experience in pool surveillance, rule enforcement, and emergency response. Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in and successfully complete all required lifeguard certification training programs, including CPR, First Aid, and AED.
- Learn and effectively implement water rescue techniques and emergency procedures.
- Assist certified lifeguards in the vigilant monitoring of the swimming pool area to prevent accidents and ensure member safety.
- Help enforce pool rules and regulations courteously and effectively to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
- Support the senior lifeguard team in responding promptly and appropriately to any incidents or emergencies.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe pool deck and surrounding areas.
- Engage with members in a friendly and professional manner, providing assistance and information as needed.
- Attend regular in-service training sessions and team meetings to continuously enhance skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and adherence to all facility policies and safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Strong swimming proficiency and comfort in water.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform rescue duties and maintain surveillance.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- A genuine interest in water safety and helping others.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
