Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily plant care activities including watering, fertilizing, pruning, and transplanting various plant species.
- Monitor plant health meticulously, identifying and reporting any signs of pests, diseases, or nutritional deficiencies promptly.
- Assist with the preparation of growing media, pots, and propagation of seedlings and cuttings.
- Operate and maintain essential greenhouse equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and tidiness of the greenhouse facility and all work areas.
- Contribute to the harvesting, sorting, cleaning, and careful packaging of produce or plants as required by production schedules.
- Adhere strictly to all company health, safety, and environmental guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of plant treatments, growth cycles, yields, and inventory.
- Collaborate effectively and communicate openly with team members and supervisors to achieve daily and weekly production goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 20kg, prolonged bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and acute observation skills for meticulous plant health monitoring.
- Basic understanding of plant care principles or a strong willingness and aptitude to learn new horticultural techniques.
- Highly reliable, punctual, and possesses a strong, proactive work ethic.
- Ability to follow complex instructions accurately and work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate harmoniously as part of a diverse team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience working in a greenhouse, nursery, or similar agricultural setting.
- Basic knowledge of hydroponics, aquaponics, or other controlled environment agriculture (CEA) techniques.
- Familiarity with integrated pest management (IPM) strategies and organic growing practices.
- A valid driver's license for potential occasional errands or transport within the facility.
- Certificate or diploma in horticulture, agriculture, botany, or a closely related field.
