Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of personal support workers, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and review of individualized care plans, ensuring they meet the specific needs and goals of service users.
  • Conduct regular supervisions, appraisals, and team meetings to monitor performance, provide feedback, and facilitate continuous professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and CQC standards.
  • Manage staff rotas and allocate duties efficiently, accommodating flexible working patterns where possible.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for service users, their families, and external stakeholders, resolving concerns and promoting effective communication.
  • Handle incident reporting, investigations, and follow-ups in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new support staff, ensuring they meet the required standards and values of our service.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within personal care or social care.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, including rota planning and delegation.
  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding procedures, CQC regulations, and relevant health and social care legislation.
  • Proficiency in using care management software and general office applications.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a person-centered approach to care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent qualification.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Full UK driving license with access to a vehicle.
