As a Senior Residential Lead Supervisor, you will be instrumental in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for residents. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective leadership, guidance, and supervision to a team of Residential Support Workers, ensuring high standards of care.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the residential unit, including rota management, incident reporting, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Implement and monitor individual care plans, ensuring they meet the specific needs and goals of each resident.
  • Act as a key worker for designated residents, building positive relationships and advocating for their best interests.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CIW, CQC).
  • Conduct regular supervision sessions and appraisals for junior staff, identifying training needs and supporting their professional development.
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using appropriate techniques and interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure integrated support.
  • Participate in on-call duties and shift work, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, as required.
  • Champion a positive and inclusive culture within the residential setting.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a residential care setting, ideally with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and child/adult protection procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with residents, staff, and external partners.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
  • Proficiency in record-keeping and report writing.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle (preferred for occasional duties).

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People or Adults) or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks (e.g., Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014).
  • Experience working with individuals with challenging behaviours, complex needs, or learning disabilities.
  • First Aid qualification.
