Key Responsibilities
- Assist Radiology Technologists in preparing patients for various imaging examinations, including explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort.
- Help patients with positioning on examination tables and safely transfer them to and from wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and readiness of examination rooms, equipment, and supply areas.
- Stock necessary supplies in radiology rooms and storage areas.
- Transport patients to and from the radiology department as needed, ensuring their safety and dignity.
- Assist with basic equipment setup and ensure all safety protocols are meticulously followed.
- Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient records as directed.
- Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including infection control and patient confidentiality (HIPAA/Data Protection).
- Monitor patients during examinations and promptly report any changes in their condition or discomfort to the Technologist.
- Support the overall flow of the department to ensure efficient patient care and timely delivery of services.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and record-keeping
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
