Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented and proactive IT Technician with a passion for hardware and problem-solving? Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated individual to join our growing team in Whitchurch, Cardiff. This pivotal role involves providing essential IT support, primarily focusing on the setup, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, as well as diagnosing and resolving technical issues for our diverse user base. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure, directly contributing to the productivity and efficiency of our internal operations and client projects.

As an IT Technician specializing in hardware, you will be the first point of contact for staff experiencing technical difficulties, ranging from desktop and laptop issues to peripheral connectivity problems. Your day-to-day will involve hands-on work, setting up new workstations, installing and configuring operating systems and core business applications, and meticulously documenting hardware assets and troubleshooting steps. Beyond immediate fixes, we expect a proactive approach to system health, identifying potential issues before they impact productivity. This includes performing routine checks, maintaining hardware and software inventory, and coordinating with third-party vendors for repairs or replacements, ensuring minimal disruption to service.

You’ll be responsible for the entire lifecycle of our hardware assets, from initial procurement and deployment to eventual decommissioning and secure data disposal. This involves physical installation, cable management, and ensuring all devices adhere to our security and compliance standards. Furthermore, you will play a key role in supporting our network infrastructure, assisting with basic network troubleshooting, and ensuring connectivity for all users. Your ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and patiently to non-technical users is paramount, as you’ll be guiding them through resolutions and best practices. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a dynamic environment, contributing to a company that values innovation and continuous improvement. We’re looking for someone who thrives on solving problems, is eager to learn new technologies, and is committed to delivering exceptional user support. If you’re ready to tackle challenges head-on and ensure our technology systems are robust and reliable, we encourage you to apply.
