As a Night Care Lead, you will be the cornerstone of our night-time operations, providing vital leadership and supervision to a team of care assistants. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the night care team, ensuring high standards of care delivery and adherence to all policies and procedures.
- Oversee the administration of medication, ensuring accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with CQC regulations.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans in collaboration with residents, their families, and the wider care team.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, incidents, and health concerns, escalating issues to senior staff or external professionals as required.
- Provide direct personal care and support to residents, assisting with mobility, hygiene, and comfort during the night.
- Maintain clear, accurate, and concise care records and ensure effective communication and handover between shifts.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and stimulating environment for residents and a supportive working atmosphere for staff.
- Conduct regular checks on residents throughout the night, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
- Mentor and support care assistants, promoting their professional development and ensuring team cohesion.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a care setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
- Proven ability to administer medication safely and accurately.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations and best practices in elderly care.
- Ability to work effectively autonomously and as part of a team during night shifts.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and care plan documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid certification.
- Experience with dementia care.
- Familiarity with digital care planning systems.
