Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport personnel, supplies, and equipment to various field locations within Belfast and Northern Ireland, adhering to all traffic laws and organizational policies.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring all vehicles are in optimal working condition and reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, routes, and deliveries, ensuring all documentation is complete and submitted as required.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring proper securing and handling of all items, including sensitive or fragile humanitarian aid.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols, maintaining a clean and organized vehicle environment and ensuring the security of all passengers and goods during transit.
- Communicate effectively with logistics coordinators and field staff to ensure timely and coordinated deliveries and pickups.
- Represent the organization professionally and courteously when interacting with beneficiaries, partners, and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving license (Category B or higher) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in professional driving, preferably in a logistics or field-based role.
- Excellent knowledge of local road networks in Belfast and surrounding areas.
- Strong understanding and adherence to road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshooting.
- Good communication skills and a courteous, professional demeanor.
