Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care to residents during night hours, including assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, and toileting.
  • Support residents with mobility and transfers, using equipment safely and effectively.
  • Monitor residents' health and well-being throughout the night, observing and reporting any changes in condition to senior staff.
  • Respond promptly to call bells and provide timely assistance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records and documentation.
  • Assist with the administration of medication, strictly following care plans and training guidelines (if delegated and trained).
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents.
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with residents, their families, and colleagues.

Required Skills

  • Proven empathy, compassion, and a caring nature.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work reliably and consistently on night shifts.
  • Basic understanding of care principles and person-centred care.
  • Eligibility for UK visa sponsorship.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Care Assistant, ideally in a care home setting or working night shifts.
  • Proficiency in English at CEFR B1 level or higher to meet visa requirements.
  • Up-to-date manual handling and first aid training certificates.
