Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and dispatch drivers and vehicles for deliveries and collections, optimizing routes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor real-time vehicle movements using GPS tracking and dispatch software, ensuring adherence to schedules and immediate response to deviations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing clear instructions, support, and resolving issues that arise during routes.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery statuses, delays, or changes, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Process and manage delivery documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and transport regulations.
- Collaborate with warehouse and sales teams to coordinate pickup and delivery schedules, minimizing operational bottlenecks.
- Respond to and resolve emergency situations, breakdowns, or accidents promptly and professionally, escalating as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, vehicle movements, and driver logs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for dispatch operations and logistics processes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Dispatcher, ideally within a delivery or transport logistics environment.
- Proficiency with dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional geographical knowledge of Belfast and surrounding areas.
