The Botswana Meat Commission (BMC) is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Checker to join our robust team in Lobatse. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough visual and physical inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods against established specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and operational prerequisite programs (OPRPs) to ensure compliance with HACCP and other food safety regulations.
- Accurately record and document inspection results, identifying and reporting any non-conformances or deviations.
- Collaborate with production personnel to address quality issues promptly and assist in implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Perform calibration checks on measurement equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Participate in internal audits and assist with external audits as required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality assurance processes and procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, sanitation, and safety protocols within the processing facility.
- Conduct sampling for laboratory analysis as per schedule and protocols.

- Knowledge of basic quality control principles and practices

Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Food Science, Quality Management, or a related field
- Previous experience (1+ years) in a quality assurance or control role, preferably in the food processing or meat industry
- Understanding of HACCP, ISO 22000, or other food safety management systems
- Familiarity with laboratory testing procedures for food products
