Job Description

Are you a highly skilled and meticulous Vehicle Inspector with a passion for road safety and regulatory compliance? Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced MOT & Compliance professional to join our team in Leicester. This pivotal role involves conducting thorough vehicle inspections, performing MOT tests, and ensuring all vehicles meet stringent safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive MOT inspections on Class 4 & 7 vehicles in accordance with DVSA guidelines and standards.
  • Conduct detailed pre-MOT checks and advise on necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • Undertake thorough vehicle inspections for diagnostic purposes, identifying faults and potential compliance issues.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all inspections, tests, and compliance checks using digital systems.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest quality standards, adhering to company procedures and industry best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding vehicle condition, test results, and any required actions.
  • Stay updated with all current DVSA regulations, technological advancements, and industry changes.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations within the workshop environment.
  • Assist with general workshop duties and maintain a clean, organised, and safe working area.

Required Skills

  • Current DVSA accredited MOT Tester qualification for Class 4 & 7 vehicles.
  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Inspector or MOT Tester.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong technical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and workshop tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A full, valid UK driving licence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
  • Additional MOT Tester accreditations (e.g., Class 5, Class 1, 2).
  • Experience with electric and hybrid vehicle inspection.
  • Familiarity with various garage management software systems.
  • Relevant certifications from recognised automotive industry bodies.
