Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Systems & Maintenance to join our dynamic team in Portsmouth, England. In this role, you will be instrumental in the full lifecycle management of power systems, from initial design and specification through to installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for power generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Conduct fault analysis, root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions for complex electrical issues.
- Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical infrastructure.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of new electrical equipment and systems.
- Prepare technical specifications, engineering drawings, and project documentation.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including mechanical engineers, project managers, and technicians.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and maintenance staff.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for electrical engineering tasks.
- Identify opportunities for system optimization, energy efficiency improvements, and technological upgrades.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in power systems design, maintenance, or operations.
- Proficiency in electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical).
- Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations (e.g., BS 7671, HV/LV safety procedures).
- Experience with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical faults.

Preferred Qualifications
