Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Front Desk Officer to join our client’s esteemed hotel team located in La Tour Koenig, Port Louis. As the first point of contact for our valued guests, you will play a pivotal role in creating memorable experiences and ensuring the smooth operation of daily front office activities. This position requires an individual with excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to manage various tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome and register guests upon arrival, ensuring a smooth check-in process.
  • Manage guest reservations, cancellations, and modifications efficiently using property management systems.
  • Handle guest inquiries, provide accurate information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions.
  • Process payments, manage cash handling, and maintain accurate billing records.
  • Address guest concerns, complaints, and requests promptly and professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Maintain a tidy and presentable reception area at all times.
  • Coordinate with other hotel departments (housekeeping, F&B, maintenance) to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Perform night audit duties as required, including balancing accounts and preparing reports.
  • Uphold security and safety procedures, reporting any suspicious activities or incidents.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as mail distribution, message taking, and office supply management.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
  • Proficiency in using Property Management Systems (PMS) – Opera PMS experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Professional appearance and a warm, welcoming demeanor.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and difficult guests with grace and composure.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and cash handling procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Fluency in additional languages (e.g., German, Mandarin) is highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience with a luxury hotel brand.
  • Familiarity with local tourist attractions and services in Mauritius.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
