Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Live-In Care Lead Supervisor to join our compassionate team, based in the beautiful Trinity area of Edinburgh. As a Live-In Care Lead Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of care delivery, supporting clients to live independently and with dignity within their own homes.
Your primary responsibility will be to oversee, mentor, and support a small team of live-in carers, ensuring that person-centred care plans are meticulously followed and regularly reviewed. This position requires a leader who is not only proficient in direct care provision but also possesses strong organisational skills, empathetic communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and provide ongoing support to a team of live-in carers, ensuring best practices are consistently applied.
- Develop, review, and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Conduct regular client assessments, ensuring their evolving needs are met and care plans are updated accordingly.
- Ensure strict adherence to all Care Inspectorate Scotland regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
- Provide direct personal care, medication administration, and support as required, acting as a role model for the care team.
- Manage weekly rotas and staffing levels, ensuring adequate coverage and continuity of care.
- Act as the primary point of contact for families, external agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Effectively handle and resolve care-related concerns, emergencies, and critical incidents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, care plans, and administrative documentation.
- Facilitate regular team meetings and contribute to carer development and training initiatives.
Required Skills
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience within a care setting.
- Minimum of SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement person-centred care plans.
- Proficiency in safe medication administration and record-keeping.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- A compassionate, empathetic, and patient approach to care.
- Ability to effectively manage crises and solve problems under pressure.
- Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Experience working with clients with complex care needs (e.g., dementia, palliative care).
- Current First Aid certificate.
- Knowledge of local care regulations specific to Scotland (Care Inspectorate Scotland).
- Experience with care planning software/digital record systems.
