Job Description

Are you an experienced and proactive Network Engineer with a profound passion for critical connectivity infrastructure and cutting-edge IT solutions? MCB Group is seeking a talented and dedicated individual to join our highly skilled IT team in Beau Bassin, Rose Hill. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the end-to-end lifecycle of our extensive network infrastructure, from strategic design and meticulous implementation to ongoing maintenance and advanced troubleshooting. Your core mission will be to ensure seamless, secure, and high-performing operations across all our branches, corporate offices, and digital platforms. As a Network Engineer with a focus on connectivity, you will be at the forefront of optimizing network performance, enhancing robust security protocols, and supporting the vital backbone of our ongoing digital transformation journey. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, configure, and maintain complex network infrastructures including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN solutions, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Monitor network performance metrics rigorously, identify potential bottlenecks, proactively troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions to guarantee optimal connectivity and continuous uptime.
  • Perform expert configuration and troubleshooting of enterprise-grade network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points.
  • Enhance and enforce stringent network security policies, conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, and swiftly respond to and mitigate security incidents.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other IT teams (e.g., server, storage, application) to seamlessly integrate network solutions and support new service deployments.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including detailed diagrams, configurations, operational procedures, and incident reports.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation schedule to provide 24/7 support for critical network issues, minimizing downtime and business impact.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies and solutions to continuously improve network efficiency, security posture, and overall scalability.
  • Manage network capacity planning and ensure that infrastructure is adequately scaled to meet current and future business demands.

Required Skills

  • Proven extensive experience (minimum 4 years) in network administration and engineering within a large-scale enterprise environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, advanced routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), switching technologies (VLANs, STP, EtherChannel), and fundamental network security principles.
  • Hands-on expertise with Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, or similar enterprise-grade networking equipment.
  • Proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting next-generation firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Check Point).
  • Solid understanding of network monitoring tools, packet analysis, and advanced troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform under pressure in critical situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with various technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a vital part of a team, managing multiple priorities and projects effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent advanced certification (e.g., JNCIP, HCIP).
  • Experience with cloud networking concepts and implementations (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies (e.g., Viptela, FortiGate SD-WAN) and their practical implementation.
  • Experience with network automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices for IT service management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
