Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a diverse range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, with a strong emphasis on craft cocktail creation and presentation.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner, recommending drinks, taking orders, and ensuring their complete satisfaction.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of our comprehensive beverage menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
- Accurately process payments using a POS system and efficiently handle cash, card, and mobile transactions, balancing the till at the end of shifts.
- Monitor and manage bar inventory, including performing regular stock counts, placing orders, receiving deliveries, and ensuring proper storage and rotation of all bar supplies.
- Ensure the bar area, including glassware, utensils, and equipment, is consistently clean, organized, and fully stocked according to stringent health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Adhere to all local and company regulations regarding alcohol service, including age verification, responsible consumption practices, and refusal of service when necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen, waitstaff, and other front-of-house team members to ensure seamless service flow and a positive guest experience.
- Assist in the development of new and exciting cocktail recipes, seasonal drink specials, and menu updates, contributing creatively to our innovative beverage program.
- Resolve guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when appropriate to ensure guest satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Bartender in a fast-paced environment, with a strong portfolio in craft cocktail creation and traditional mixology.
- Exceptional knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, liqueurs, and non-alcoholic beverage components, including classic and contemporary cocktail recipes.
- Outstanding customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests and a friendly, engaging personality.
- Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and maintain composure under pressure during busy service periods.
- Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Proficiency in using POS (Point of Sale) systems for order entry, payment processing, and reporting.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required by the business needs.
- Fluency in English and French; conversational Creole is a significant advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a reputable bartending school or a recognized mixology program.
- Experience with advanced inventory management software and stock control procedures.
- Demonstrated creative flair for garnish, innovative drink presentation, and menu development.
- Prior experience training or mentoring junior bar staff.
