Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, organisation, and implementation of daily educational and recreational activities for children.
- Provide guidance and support to childcare staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and development of all children in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., EYFS).
- Act as a key liaison between parents/guardians and staff, communicating updates on child progress and addressing queries.
- Support the management team in administrative tasks, record-keeping, and facility maintenance.
- Assist in staff scheduling and deployment to maintain appropriate child-to-staff ratios.
- Oversee the setup and pack-down of activity areas, ensuring a stimulating and safe environment.
- Participate actively in ongoing training and professional development programs provided by Career.zycto.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of childcare programs and services through feedback and innovative ideas.
- Handle minor disciplinary issues and conflicts amongst children with a calm and constructive approach.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience working in a childcare setting (minimum 1 year)
- Strong understanding of child development and early years foundation stage (EYFS)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
- Proactive and organised approach to work
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a supervisory or senior practitioner role within childcare
- Knowledge of various learning frameworks and pedagogies
- Familiarity with local safeguarding policies and procedures
- Ability to speak additional languages
