As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be an integral part of our kitchen’s daily operations, directly supporting our talented chefs and ensuring the seamless flow of food preparation and service. Your primary focus will be on maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing workstations, and keeping storage areas tidy and organised. Beyond cleaning, you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience by assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling and chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and helping with stock rotation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients.
  • Operate and maintain dishwashers, ensuring all kitchenware, utensils, and crockery are cleaned and sanitized to high standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas, including workstations, floors, walls, and storage spaces.
  • Organize and put away deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation and storage temperatures.
  • Monitor and manage waste, including recycling and proper disposal of food scraps.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of catering events or dining areas as required.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Support the culinary team in any ad-hoc tasks to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
