Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Mobile App Content Assistant to join our growing digital team at Emerald Zanzibar Resort & Spa. In this part-time position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guest-facing mobile application is always updated with fresh, engaging, and accurate information. Your work will directly impact our guests’ experience, providing them with seamless access to resort services, activities, dining options, and local attractions. You’ll be responsible for crafting compelling descriptions, managing images, and ensuring all content adheres to our brand guidelines and high-quality standards. This role requires excellent written communication skills, a foundational understanding of mobile app interfaces, and the ability to work independently within a collaborative team structure. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and edit engaging content for all sections of the Emerald Zanzibar mobile application, including service descriptions, event listings, dining menus, and local excursion details.
- Ensure all app content is consistently accurate, up-to-date, and reflects the luxury brand voice and identity of Emerald Zanzibar Resort & Spa.
- Source, optimize, and upload high-quality images and multimedia content to complement textual information within the app.
- Collaborate with various resort departments (e.g., F&B, Guest Relations, Spa, Activities) to gather information and ensure content relevance and accuracy.
- Perform regular content audits and quality checks to identify and correct any errors, outdated information, or inconsistencies.
- Work closely with the marketing team to align app content with ongoing campaigns and promotional activities.
- Assist in brainstorming and implementing new content features or enhancements for the mobile application to improve guest engagement and usability.
- Maintain an organized content calendar and asset library for the mobile app, ensuring efficient content management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in content writing, editing, or digital content management.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Swahili is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) or similar platforms for digital content.
- Basic understanding of mobile application user interfaces and user experience principles.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines with flexible scheduling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and basic image editing software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- Previous experience in the hospitality or tourism industry, particularly with luxury brands.
- Experience with mobile app content development or digital product content.
- Understanding of SEO principles for app stores (ASO) and digital content.
- Proficiency in additional languages relevant to our international clientele.
