Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of residential care staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the residential unit, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualised care plans in conjunction with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for residents and their families, addressing concerns and ensuring effective communication.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance checks and audits to maintain high standards of care and service delivery.
  • Manage staff rotas, allocate duties, and ensure adequate staffing levels at all times.
  • Facilitate and participate in ongoing training and development sessions for staff, including the training provided by Career.zycto.
  • Handle critical incidents and emergencies in a calm and professional manner, implementing appropriate protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring confidentiality and data protection compliance.
  • Promote resident independence, choice, and dignity in all aspects of daily living.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a residential care setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Sound understanding of care standards, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation (e.g., CQC regulations in the UK).
  • Proficiency in record-keeping and incident reporting.
  • Empathetic and compassionate approach to care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience with person-centred care planning software.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
