Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the night care team, ensuring all duties are performed to the highest standard of care.
- Oversee the administration of medication, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to all regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct regular welfare checks on residents throughout the night, addressing any immediate concerns or changes in condition.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring they are person-centered and responsive to evolving resident needs.
- Respond effectively to emergencies, making critical decisions and coordinating appropriate interventions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed care records, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations and internal policies.
- Facilitate effective handover communication between night and day shifts to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents, particularly those experiencing distress or confusion during the night.
- Ensure the safety and security of the care home environment during night hours.
- Participate in training and development initiatives to enhance personal and team knowledge of dementia care best practices.
- Promote a culture of respect, dignity, and empathy among all staff and residents.
Required Skills
- Proven leadership and supervisory experience within a care setting, preferably with a focus on dementia.
- Strong understanding of person-centered dementia care principles and practices.

- Proficiency in medication management and administration.

- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Health & Social Care.
