Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, and polishing floor surfaces.
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and replenishing all necessary supplies like soap and paper towels.
- Empty and clean all trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas following proper waste management protocols.
- Dust and wipe down all surfaces, including desks, countertops, windowsills, ledges, and office equipment.
- Clean interior windows, glass partitions, and entrance doors to ensure a clear and welcoming appearance.
- Replenish paper products, hand soap, air fresheners, and other hygiene supplies in all designated areas as needed.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, stored safely, and in good working order after each shift.
- Monitor and promptly report any maintenance needs, structural damage, or potential safety hazards to management.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct periodic deep cleaning tasks, such as carpet cleaning or floor waxing, as assigned by the supervisor.
- Secure the premises at the end of the shift, ensuring all lights are off, doors are locked, and alarms are set if required.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to operate standard cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuums, mops, floor buffers, pressure washers).
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing all cleaning tasks to a high standard.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete all assigned duties within the evening shift.
- Physical stamina and mobility to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting up to 25 kg, bending, stooping, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals, their safe handling procedures, and storage guidelines.
- Good communication skills (verbal) to report issues, receive instructions, and interact respectfully with team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 1 year) in a janitorial or commercial cleaning role, particularly in an evening shift setting.
- Knowledge of basic maintenance and minor repair tasks relevant to facility upkeep.
- Completion of primary or secondary education.
- Familiarity with waste management and recycling protocols specific to commercial environments.
- Certification in cleaning best practices or chemical safety is a plus.
