Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of care assistants, ensuring high standards of care are consistently met.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and review of personalised care plans, adapting them as residents' needs evolve.
- Manage staff rotas and allocate duties effectively, incorporating flexible working patterns where appropriate to ensure optimal staffing levels.
- Act as a primary point of contact for residents, their families, and external healthcare professionals, fostering strong relationships.
- Conduct regular appraisals, provide ongoing training, and identify development opportunities for care staff.
- Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations, company policies, and best practices in health and social care.
- Handle day-to-day operational issues, resolve conflicts, and promote a positive and respectful care environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including care notes, medication administration, and incident reports.
- Participate in management meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of care services.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an elderly care setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior role.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with a proven ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for engaging with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Comprehensive understanding of person-centred care principles and safeguarding adults at risk.
- Proficiency in care planning, risk assessment, and medication management.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Competency in using basic IT tools for record-keeping and communication.
- A compassionate, empathetic, and patient approach to care.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or higher in Health and Social Care.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Full UK driving license with access to a vehicle.
- Experience with digital care planning systems.
