Job Description

Millennium bim is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Entry-Level Maintenance Helper to join our dedicated team in Albazine, Maputo. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled technicians with routine maintenance and repair tasks across various facility systems (e.g., minor electrical, plumbing, painting, general carpentry).
  • Perform basic repairs such as changing light bulbs, fixing minor leaks, unclogging drains, tightening loose fixtures, and addressing simple cosmetic issues.
  • Conduct regular visual inspections of premises to identify and report maintenance needs, potential hazards, or areas requiring attention.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas, workshops, equipment storage, and facility grounds.
  • Transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites efficiently and safely.
  • Assist in assembling and disassembling furniture, office fixtures, and various equipment as needed.
  • Strictly follow all safety protocols, company policies, and operational procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance activities, report issues encountered, and assist with inventory management of supplies and spare parts.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to maintenance requests from staff, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Participate actively in ongoing training and development programs to enhance maintenance skills and knowledge.
  • Support the team in emergency repair situations as directed.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 25 kg, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of general safety procedures and a strong willingness to adhere to them strictly.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, punctuality, and a sense of responsibility.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills, follow instructions accurately, and adapt to various tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Some prior experience in a manual labor, construction, general upkeep, or similar hands-on role (even informal or volunteer experience is valued).
  • Basic conversational and written knowledge of Portuguese language.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools (e.g., wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers) and understanding of their safe usage.
  • A valid driver's license (Category A or B) is a plus, but not required.
